Tax Forms We Support
Tax form 1040A is supported by our tax software. This "short form" also works for 1040EZ tax form filers. Most of the common forms and schedules associated with the 1040A are supported. A few aren't. Here are the details:
Our tax software Does support:
- Tax Form 1040-A (which also supports 1040-EZ)
- Schedule EIC (Earned Income Credit)
- Schedule 1 (Interest and Dividends)
- Schedule 2 (Childcare Expenses, unless you received childcare benefits from your employer)
- Tax Form 8812 (Additional Child Tax Credit)
- Tax Form 8863 (Hope and Lifetime Learning Education Credits)
- Tax Form 8880 (Retirement Savings Contribution Credit)
- W2 and 1099-R income
Our Tax software and eFile service Does Not support the following 1040-A Tax Forms & Schedules:
- Credit for the elderly or the disabled (Schedule 3)
- Adoption credit (Form 8839)
- Tax Form 2210 (Multiple support declaration)
- Tax Form 8862 (EIC after previously disallowed)
- Electronic filing of Form Payment for underpayment of taxes
The 1040 ("long form") is not supported by our service. Usually you require tax Form 1040 if you need: Itemized Deductions, 1099-Misc (or other self-employment income), Alimony, or Taxable income over $100,000.
We do not e-file state tax returns for you. However, we do help you find ways to e-file your state tax return for free.
Our tax software and efile service has a few other limitations:
- Maximum of 4 dependents
- IRA and Pension income must be reported on 1099-R and must be fully taxable
- All income on Line 7 must be reported on a W2
- You can not owe an underpayment penalty
- If you received childcare benefits from your employer, our site can not file your return.
- All W2s must have employer addresses in the United States
- Childcare credit is not supported for more than two caregivers or two dependents
- We do not support special military filing situations (e.g., hazardous duty)
