We do not offer state tax filing, because most states offer free tax filing directly through their state tax website or tax office. Rather than charge you extra for state tax filing, we would rather help you file your state income tax return for free
We specialize in the Federal IRS 1040A tax form. If you normally prepare a 1040-EZ return you can also use our tax preparation and eFile service. To learn more about what forms we do and do not file, please read our Tax forms we file for you.
You may not need to file a state income tax return if you are a resident of Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, or Wyoming.
If you live in another state use us first for your Federal IRS tax return.
Then eFile your state taxes directly through the state Web site.
Most other eFile services charge extra to e-file state taxes. But we'd rather steer you toward some FREE ways to eFile state taxes.

State Personal Income Tax A total of 41 states impose income taxes. New Hampshire and Tennessee apply it only to income from interest and dividends. Seven states (Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming) do not tax personal income. Of the 41 with a broad-based income tax, 35 base the taxes on federal returns, typically taking a portion of what you pay the IRS or using your federal adjusted gross income or taxable income as the starting point.
